Kalina at 11 months
So, Kalina is 12 months old... this past year sure did fly by! The past two months, we have seen Kalina really start loving her environment. She is so curious and interested in everything around her and wants to know what everything is called. She points at everything and says "that", "that", "that". And smiles like crazy when she gets the answer. At the beginning of November, K started blowing kisses and just loves sharing the love!
She loves standing and bounces up and down when music is playing. Her absolute favorite is Tatum! She gets so excited when T walks (not so quietly) into the room! The other day, K and I were plaing on the floor in the living room when T started down the stairs. As soon as she saw T's pant legs, she dropped what she was doing and booked it crawling over to the stairs, climbed up the first stair and reached her arms up to T (who had sat on the second step) to have T pick her up/hug her! Pure love.... It is so much fun watching them together, and T gets so excited everyday when K will hug her or kiss her or just play with her. If Tatum is her favorite, Daddy is a close second! One of my favorite things I was able to watch... Matt walked in from work, and the girls and I were in the living room, playing, and K dropped her toys as soon as she heard Matt's voice and went crawling straight to him! :D
Last night, I was holding K's hands while she was walking, and she felt pretty solid, so I let go of her hands, she stood for a second and actually took her first step! :) Now, she is not really close to officially walking, but that was definitely exciting! I was not expecting that at all!
Talking... Kalina definitely has her own plans on when she will do things and what she will do. She has said a few words- Momma, Dadda, Sis, HI (her favorite to say), fish, teeth, attempted foot, book, and Buttercup (her doll). She will say things, but then, won't say them again for a long time. She has been doing this for quite some time... she will do something, and then not do it again for a while... lol... I think she just likes playing games with me!
Anyway, life with a one and three year old has begun! Bring on the fun!!! While everyone was in town, we also celebrated Kalina’s first birthday! Kalina definitely took her time and didn’t dive right into her cake… We were all ready, waiting, excited… and, well, not much happened… so we let her play with her cake while we cut the other cake up for all of us, and before we knew it, the cake was annihilated! She didn’t eat much, just took it apart and smashed it! J
Having a staredown with the Care Bear! 
We welcomed the Carrington Family to Denver last weekend and had a wonderful visit! Tatum's 2 year old cousin, Grace, walked in and the girls took off! Tatum could not wait for Grace to get here, and talked about what they were going to do for a full week before she arrived! They are definitely great friends already, and that friendship will be so fun to watch blossom through the years!
The girls had a great time with Lola and Pocky as well. Tatum and Lola did some crafts, shared some hot chocolate, played some soccer, made some fudge, put a Gingerbread house together, read a few books, and really just had fun. I don't know who was more wiped out... T definitely took a nap a few hours after everyone left!
Kid Table has begun... 
I think Pocky had a good time, too... Kalina really seemed to take to Pocky pretty well and he got to assist in the fudge making.... or, maybe he was busy feeding Tatum marshmallows and chocolate.... hmmmm.... He did, however, introduce not only me, but Grace & Tatum to SmartPop Cheese Popcorn.... mmm, I think I'm going to go get a bowl right now....
