We Made It!

So, after two days of driving with an eight month old and two dogs... we finally arrived in Denver Saturday night. Our trip started off with Tatum spitting up on Matt's head, then Matt's soda exploding all over him and the steering wheel (which he then tried to hold over me.. lol...), then Hunter threw up in the back of the car... let's rewind to Thursday- Matt accidently had the movers take Jackson and Hunter's food, so he had to buy them new. He did not know what kind to buy them b/c I have changed it... if you have dogs and you have ever changed their food... you know what types of things that can do to a dog's stomach..they smelled good! - so, as you can see we had a wonderful start to our road trip. Then, as we were in the Mountains- and I mean UP in the mountains (as in- in the snow!), we had to stop and give Liz's car a break... it did not want to go any faster than 35 mph... lol...

Anyway, we made it! And it is beautiful! It was definitely the most beautiful drive! The landscape in Arizona changed so many times, and then CO with the absolutely gorgeous mountains and trees, and streams. We had a stream along us most of the way- through the mountains, etc. The only difficulty we had was as we were taking the long scenic way through the mountains- there was no gas station in sight... no restroom... so, we finally arrived in Telluride and we pulled into a beautiful ski lodge, where they allowed us to use the restroom, and we ended up staying the night there, where we sat in front of a fireplace overlooking white snow-capped mountains, and sipping hot chocolate. Okay, so the fireplace did not work, and we had frozen pizza for dinner... it was still gorgeous! Flip flops, by the way, are not a good choice of shoe when you will be driving UP into the mountains and may have to take the dogs out. Coats would also be a good choice to have, or at least have a good sweatshirt handy! (KNOW WHERE IT IS!) ha ha...

The house is a mess, but it is slowly being placed together. Our mover unloaded our things on Sunday- what a nice guy, so we only had to sleep on the air mattress two nights- once in Arizona and once here. Tatum is having a difficult time adjusting her sleep schedule, but we'll eventually get it figured out. The dogs have a pretty large yard where we can play fetch- they are loving it, and we have beautiful flowering trees all over. The mountains are visible from our upstairs bedrooms- especially in Liz's room, but we can see them as we are driving to our neighborhood.

Tatum had a temperature today... wasn't feeling well at all, but for the three hours she was awake today, she enjoyed performing... I'm sure she got all the singing talent from me! lol.... (there is a reason I was in band) but she must have grabbed one part from the Baldwin family (definitely not the Bilinski side... Carl, Liz, Doug, or myself) ... and since she is a 'Mini' Matt... he was in swing choir in high school for those of you who did not know... :) here is just more proof! ENJOY!

Usually, she laughs like crazy while playing peek-a-boo, but if you look at her eyebrows (they are red)... she is very tired! She had a hard day of playing today! :) The video is still fun :) Enjoy!

Fun with Tatum

So, keeping up with Tatum is definitely going to be fun! She is already crawling around like crazy, finding little tiny fuzzies on the floor to play with... She is enamored with the dogs, and squeals and starts crawling (quickly) towards them- even if she is on the bed, and they are on the floor... good thing I played sports in h.s. and have decent reflexes! If they are on the outside of the gate (at the door for her room), she crawls to the gate and puts her arms through to try to pet (grab) them. The other day, she picked up one of the dogs' bones, and was hitting the floor with it... the she was putting it right in front of Hunter's face... not a good idea... but after she hit Hunter in the nose with the bone a few times, he gently took it from her hand.... can you see Hunter being gentle with anything??? I was suprised to see him be so gentle! Makes me want to keep him around. :)



Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of fun time with Tatum. She absolutely loves playing Peek-a-boo, and loves hiding from me after he bath, under a towel... I don't have pictures of that, but maybe sometime I will get some. It's hard to get candids of Tatum b/c she loves the camera, and either stops what she is doing and cheeses, or she comes at the camera! :) Either way, enjoy! :)

Spring Time in AZ

I must say, seeing cacti bloom with flowers is very neat to see! I will miss this!
