Tatum has been a busy girl this past month! She has lots to say- fish, eye, hi, go, (what does a dog say?) wf, wf, (what does a cow say?) mmm, mmm... daddy... She has taken a few steps here and there, and is completely capable of walking at this point, but she just doesn't want to yet! She stands for long periods of time, until she realizes that she is standing- then plops onto her bottom. She points/grabs our eyes and says "eye"... she knows her and our ears, she knows our nose, mouth... her feet... She enjoys removing everything from my wallet & purse- then returns it all back to where they belong. Her favorite right now, is she takes her stuffed animals, especially her teddy bear, hugs them and kisses them! Sometimes, if we're lucky, she'll kiss us, but not too often. She loves exploring things already, and once she is on her feet... look out!
Here are a couple of videos for your enjoyment!

Play Date
Later we went for a walk around the lake in Evergreen and into the woods where we were on the lookout for Mountain Lions... didn't see any though :( Here are a couple of pictures from our day.. enjoy!
Colorado Springs
We set on Sunday to visit Colorado Springs... no real plan in place, but we thought we would go check it out. We went to see "Garden of the Gods"- beautiful Red Rock formations, drove around them, and headed into the city. We then took Tatum on her first (of many) visit to the Olympic Training Center... little did she know at the time, that she will be training there soon! ;)

Trip to the Aquarium...
Happy Fourth of July!!!
Tatum's latest fun is cruising from the front door, to the back door, to the front door, to the back door... and so on.... with the assistance of a little push car. This is definitely her favorite. When she 'crashes', she turns to mom or dad for assistance in turning the car. She can do this all day long! I will record this and upload it soon...
The Fourth of July began with us going to a neighborhood parade, where we found out that we were the parade... so we walked with the neighborhood families with a fire engine leading the way around the neighborhood. We ended at the park where the fire engine turned on the water hose and we ran! :) Tatum was not a fan of getting wet!
Happy Fourth of July!!!

Later, we headed to a neighbor's for a cookout and then headed to see fireworks... here's Tatum at the beginning of her first fireworks...
Then she woke up and really enjoyed the fireworks. She was extremely tired, but she kept pointing at the fireworks.
A couple of weeks ago, Tatum grabbed the stroller and started walking... enjoy!Sunday, June 22, 2008
Gram Potts' Visit
So... few new updates... my mom and Aunt Susan came to visit this past week and we enjoyed the visit very much!
With mom and aunt Susan, we visited Boulder Falls and we drove up to Mt. Rushmore via Lake Dillon (dillon res.)... very pretty drive! We drove up through Rocky Mtn. Nat. Park where we saw lots of elk and deer... and a mountain goat. We also drove through other parks... one where we were right next to buffalo- they were crossing the road! Very neat.

At the end of their visit on Friday- Matt was at work and I was at the store buying some formula... Tatum decided to take her first two steps! She has been standing alone for a couple of seconds at a time, but she was holding onto my aunt's shirt and let go... took a couple of steps... and sat. She typically can stand for a couple of seconds and then she realizes that she is and automatically sits down... but this is very cool! Unfortunately Matt and I missed it, but it's very exciting that she is starting to walk! I know it'll be exciting to run around chasing her soon! :)

Visiting the ole Hoosier State
Well, our trip to Indiana was a pretty successful trip. We did not get to see (meet) the Indy crew, but we saw a lot of family and enjoyed spending time with them. Tatum decided that she wants to eat adult food now, so she is letting some front teeth come in- they popped up Sunday, June 1. I'm very excited to see her little teeth pop up. She has been chewing on her hand like crazy- nothing else is good enough for her at this point.
We started the trip off driving to Indy to visit a couple of friends, then it was off to Grandma Patti's house. At Grandma Patti's, Tatum and Grandma went on a couple of walks and picked some flowers. Tatum enjoyed picking flowers and smelling them! Tatum, Patti, and I went to the park where we met up with one of Patti's close friends and walked around the park. It was a beautiful day to be out! Then we headed to Great Grandpa Jim's house and left a few hand prints on his sliding glass door... oops! Sorry Grandpa! :)
We then headed up to NW Indiana to stay with Grandpa B & Grandma Birt. I loved seeing the grandparents play with her, and Socks (my dad's dog) run away from her, while Buck (my mom's dog) just licked her until she was cracking up. (He's a lab)... I must say I am proud of my little daughter, in that she definitely gave her Uncle Carl a bloody nose! Ha Ha! Shows him to pick on little kids! I don't think he'll be messing with her anymore! Again, Tatum decided to leave a few handprints (maybe some tongue prints as well) on the glass doors- sorry grandparents! Have fun cleaning those up! We spent a couple days out visiting- we went up to the Dunes with our cousins, and went to Lemon Lake to play with other kids.
Uncle Doug (Tatum's Uncle Doug) read her a book on Tuesday before we left. It was very cool. His voice wasn't all there, but he mouthed the words. My Uncle Doug (while he was reading to her) kidnapped Tatum and was heading down the hall letting her fly like an airplane, and Tatum's Uncle Doug, looked up and just stared as if to say.... where are you going with my niece???... It was very cool. T's Uncle Doug just loved Tatum. He just smiled when she was looking at him and when she was blowing raspberries- he was just getting a kick out of her. He did say "I love you" to her and blew her kisses.
All in all it was a great visit. :)
